The residency is situated in a house on the hillside of Cernobbio just above Villa D’Este on the iconic Lake Como. Only a one-hour drive from Milan and in close distance of Switzerland and France. The Lake’s outstanding beauty - its winding shoreline, surrounded by beautiful mountains - is widely known and made it a destination for people to live at and travel to for hundreds of years attracting creatives and thinkers like Thomas Mann and Friedrich Nietzsche. Restaurants, cafes, the lake and many treks are within walking distance of the residency.

Nestled into the local community, artists use the serene space to develop their projects and we provide our international network to share them and to connect. Artists in residence spend two months in our house and are given a studio to work in, a budget and a dedicated team tailored to their needs. Each residency is well documented along the way and exhibited at the end.

For our Residency on Lake Como we invite artists into an inspiring environment to research, experiment and create. Our focus here is on production within a network of experienced manufacturers around the lake. From classic bronze or marble sculpture to textile (Lake Como is famous for its silk manufacturing tradition), from traditional printing, to 3D printing and CNC machining.
